Arto Teräs is the technical director of Puavo GmbH, the German subsidiary of the Finnish company Opinsys. His role is to take care of the German customers, maintain parts of the infrastructure and co-ordinate the development together with the team in Finland.

Privately Arto is a happy Debian user since more than 25 years. While still living in Finland he was a board member in the Finnish Linux User Group FLUG ry for over 10 years and a co-organizer of the Debian Conference 5 in Helsinki in 2005.

Puavo - a Debian derivative for schools

Puavo is a Debian based GNU/Linux distribution, which is used in several hundred schools in Finland and in over 50 schools in Germany. It is especially tailored for educational use with focus on efficient device and user management, reliable image-based updates and user friendliness.
