About Filasez

Hosting MiniDebConf at our school is very exciting for us, because we have been using Free and Open Source Software from the very beginning of our project in 2020.

As an NGO that offers an officially recognized Swiss primary school diploma, we combine educational innovation with formal academic responsibility. We are constantly exploring new ways to raise and educate children in a participatory and community-shaping way — on equal footing, driven by intrinsic motivation, project-oriented learning, and in mixed-age groups.

In many ways, the open source community is a powerful role model for the educational culture we aim to build. Collaboration, shared responsibility, transparency, and the understanding that learning never stops are values we deeply share.

We also believe that our learning spaces and our workshop provide an ideal environment for open encounters.
